One Antidote to Poverty |
| |
I was so encouraged last week as I travelled to Christchurch and Dunedin for meetings with GPP supporters. Everyone is so positive about Phase 2 in NZ next year – the training of our own NZ Presenters. I met with a couple of young people who are rearing to go and who will be fantastic GPP Presenters.
And there is heaps of great stuff happening locally to combat the global issues of extreme poverty. One example is Abigail from Christchurch who has set up Antidote - a network of social entrepreneurs who are establishing businesses and products to combat extreme poverty.
The network was inspired by the GPP Presentation and encourages entrepreneurs to connect and support each other, and showcase their generous work. Says Abigail, “We are the generation that will end extreme poverty - never before has there been so many people who care about the impact of the products they buy, or so many creative business people committed to ending poverty through commerce”. Check out the facebook link for more details and to connect with other like minded businesses around NZ http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/pages/Antidote-business-is-the-answer-to-poverty-injustice/179592529169?ref=mf
